David Todd
The senior Geek in our Brisbane team, David Todd is known for his optimism and easy-going personality. Ten years' experience, combined with an extensive education, makes him an accomplished IT professional.
His educational background began with Computer Aided Drafting, learning AutoCAD. He continued with a Bachelor in Technology Education, which prepared him for a teaching career in industrial technology/design and graphics/engineering technology. From there, David became a Microsoft Certified Professional for NT Servers, as well as earning certifications in Citrix Administration, Microsoft Desktop Support and A+.
David's professional background compliments his education, starting with a position as a teacher. He quickly rose through the rank and file of the IT profession; from technical demonstrator, teaching Architectural, Interior and Industrial Design students, he became a systems administrator and manager of IT and Telecommunications.
From there, David held the position of desktop administrator, providing telephone support, onsite computer repair and PC remote support for over eight-hundred staff. His last position held before joining the Geeks2U team was Senior Desktop Support Officer, providing technical support for desktop and laptop computers, as well as peripheral equipment such as tape drives, remote discs and printers.
With a quiet speaking tone, out-going personality and teaching instincts, David has no problem breaking down computer speak into a language that non-tech savvy people can understand.

Nicholas Smith
A new addition to Geeks2U's Brisbane team, Nicholas Smith has several years of IT experience. His education began with a diploma in Information Technology; some of what he learned included systems analysis, programming, data management, and computer communications.
He followed up by becoming a CompTIA A+ Certified Technician, learning how to setup, troubleshoot and repair computers with 2003 Operating Systems. To complete his education Nicholas became a Microsoft Certified Professional, with demonstrated skills in planning, deploying, maintaining and optimising IT infrastructures.
Professionally, Nicholas first held the position of Web/Database Developer and Commercial Assistant. During this time he produced, among other things, a large, multi-user, relational database for tracking and analysing resource time and costs. He also instigated and developed a software change management system that the company adopted on a global scale.
Later, Nicholas spent time as a Services Coordinator/Technical Support, providing first and second level support for external and internal users of an insurance system. He gave feedback and assistance to the support team regarding computer enhancements, program bugs and solutions, and support/advice to call centre staff, peers and customers.
Nicholas has been a Senior MS Access Programmer, Intranet Developer and DBA, to name a few. Before joining Geeks2U, he was a Software Programmer/Business Analyst. During this period he developed client relationships, VBA applications using MS Office, had involvement with vb.NET development and gave prototyping and quoting services.
