What is a Small Business Digital Health Check?
Digital security is one of those areas that businesses often neglect… until it’s too late. In 2022, the Australian Cyber Security Centre reported that cybercrime cost small businesses an average of $39,000 – yikes! Unfortunately, a cybercrime report is lodged every seven minutes, meaning it’s no longer a case of ‘if’ your small business will be hit, but ‘when’. So, what can you do to help prevent it?
There’s more to cyber security than set-and-forget anti-virus software (although that’s an important piece of the puzzle). With a Small Business Digital Health Check, you’ll have one of our expert technicians review your existing systems and suggest improvements to help protect your customer data, information, and systems. Then we’ll show you how to implement the improvements with minimal fuss and clear priorities. It’s simple.
Why your business needs a Digital Health Check
Security breaches and cyber-attacks can devastate a small business. Not only is cybercrime currently costing Australian businesses almost $100 million per year, but it also risks exposing your customer’s details, opening you up to legal headaches and reputation damage.
We understand that most small businesses can’t afford their own IT team, but don’t worry – this is where we come in. The relatively smaller cost of regular checks could save you thousands of dollars of damage in the long-run.
The top Industries reporting cybercrime in Australia
A cybercrime report is filed every 7 minutes in Australia, according to the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s 2022 Annual Cyber Threat Report. According to the ACSC’s figures, the most likely targets for attacks are government services (34%), however there many other industries that are targeted by cybercrime:
• Health Care and Social Assistance 9%
• Information Media and Telecommunications 8%
• Education and Training 7%
• Professional, Scientific and Technical Services 7%
• Construction 4%
• Manufacturing 4%
• Financial and Insurance Services 4%

How often should you book a Small Business Digital Health Check?
You wouldn’t get your car serviced once and then never visit a mechanic again. And it’s the same with business security. Sadly, cyber criminals are constantly coming up with new ways to attack systems and steal data, which is why smaller, periodic checks are best. To help ensure you’re protected ; you should ideally book a Small Business Digital Health Check every six months.
