Darrin Stainer
With an excellent list of experience and amount of knowledge, Darrin Stainer became a great addition to Geeks2u when he joined in mid-2008.

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, Darrin began his education with a Bachelor of Music. After several years of teaching, he decided to step into the I.T. business . and step in he did, starting with a Diploma of Information Technology in software development and object-oriented programming.

With his diploma in hand, Darrin began in the I.T. profession as a software developer. His duties included developing and maintaining Visual C++ applications with SQL Server databases. He also maintained Aderant CMS.NET, modifying the legal practice management solution, and created Sharepoint websites and SQL Server reports.

Since starting in the I.T. profession, Darrin has gathered extensive knowledge in many areas of Internet Technology. He gained experience in customizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook in VBA, and building and maintaining databases with user interfaces for a music tuition business and C++ applications through MS Access. He also spent three years with MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005, providing stored procedures, user defined functions, views and SQL Server Reporting Services.

Another area of I.T. that Darrin entered was web development. Here, he built his experience writing in ASP.NET using VB.NET and C# languages in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft Office Sharepoint Designer 2007.

Darrin is a creative and resourceful individual, as well as friendly and tactful . a great addition to our Geeks2U team.

Louis van Wyk
Louis van Wyk joined Geeks2U in mid-2008, becoming one of our many excellent IT professionals.

In education, Louis received a PC Engineering Diploma in 2000, and had the distinct honor of also receiving a Merit Award for top student. He is a certified PC Engineer, which covers A+, MCSE certification and N+ certification. Because of this, he is also experienced in providing administrative, network and technical support to customers running Microsoft Operating Systems, including NT 4.0, 98, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista. In addition, he is also an ICB certified bookkeeper.

While completing his studies, he began his professional experience as a part time apprentice. The following year, he joined the company in a full time junior position. After several years, he progressed to head of the network administration and hardware support department for the company's clients.

Some of Louis' key projects include responsibility for the complete inventory and re-location of Tricor Financial Services network to new premises within one week. He also assisted a bowling alley after their front desk system had crashed. He re-loaded the system, resolving the problem and gaining a new customer for the company.

Through his experience and background, Louis has gained the ability to asses a customer's requirements and budget restrictions to customize a solution package for them, so they may meet current IT demands. In addition, he has experience in overall management of corporate network relocation to new offices.

With his demonstrated skills in training and supporting end users, as well as training users to become backup operators, Louis makes a great addition to the Geeks2U team.

Robin Beecher
Robin Beecher brings over eight years of professional experience to the Geeks2U team, as well as an impressive list of skills and educational training.

In 1995, Robin graduated the University of Adelaide after obtaining a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science, including third year studies in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry and Mathematics. He completed two years of Engineering study, Majoring in Applied Mathematics and Information Technology, and then went on to gain his MCSE+I NT4.0 and MCP Windows 2000 certifications. In addition, he also completed a course on Windows NT Technology, TechNet helpdesk, Windows 2000 Professional and Counselling and Communication.

Robin's first professional position, he attained a graduate traineeship with the government and was involved in coding PL/SQL scripts. His various duties included creating and maintaining user accounts, developing an on-line sure manual, providing call logging and tracking services, and writing documentation for the transfer from MS Mail to MSExchange. In addition, he also help provide support to approximately 1600 users and fixed such problems as mail access, passwords, hard drive errors, file errors and printer issues.

Throughout his career, Robin has served in many areas of I.T., from helpdesk to first and second level tech support to network administrator. At one point, he provided phone support to over 1800 employees, with a call resolution of 80%. He also played a major part in all aspects of maintaining and troubleshooting a medium-sized Novell network, and was responsible for reporting on network outages, fixes, backups, upgrades and other areas of system and network management.

All of Robin's experience and training gained him a position as an IT administrator, supporting fifty machines in all aspects, from backups to network connectivity. Shortly before joining Geeks2U, he enjoyed a position as a systems engineer, with duties that varied from installing new PC's to designing Exchange 2007 implementation, among others.

Mark Griffin
Mark Griffin joined Geeks2U in mid-2008 with an impressive list of technical skills and over fifteen years of experience to add to our team.

His education includes a Microsoft Certified Professional qualification in NT 4. He also completed a Citrix Metaframe course and passed his Citrix administrator's exam, gaining his CCA certification. Shortly after he completed his training, Mark took his first position as a computer support technician.

In this position, he was responsible for assisting the transfer of over thirty users from one site to another. Mark also configured the personal computers, terminals and peripherals, including the specification of a new file. Among his other duties, he trained the junior members of his team on the use of server tools, transferred information and set up data replication between the main site and the backup site.

In a time span of three years, Mark moved up to supporting over two hundred financial application users, including one hundred and fifty payroll users. His duties grew to incorporate the installation and maintenance of the client environment, using RDP and Citrix protocols. He provided both hardware and software technical support for the company, as well as analyzed and specified the hardware/software requirements to deliver the maximum performance and stability.

Just before joining Geeks2U, Mark was responsible for the planning and controlling the migration of applications and data from the existing servers to a multi-million dollar data center. He ensured that all servers and personal computers had the correct software version and that all patches were tested. He was also responsible for networking new computers to the LAN and WAN, making sure that all the computers had the correct network settings and full virus and firewall software installed.

Like all our Geeks Mark has excellent communication skills, able to communicate with users at all levels, and a polite, friendly telephone manner.
